貝兒與塞巴斯汀

倒不是因為 Belle & Sebastian 有著我喜愛的 The Velvet Underground 的影子

時而清冷時而和煦的歌謠情愫
一直都具有輕巧的春天氣息
而歌詞始終不改坦白而偶有戲謔的習性
以及辨識度極高的唱片封面設計
也是我喜歡他們的原因
尤其是每每聽到這首 Family Tree
歌詞內容總是刺的我無處可躲

I've been feeling down
I've been looking round the town
for somebody just like me
But the only ones I see
Are the dummies in the window
They spend their money on the clothes
It saddens me to think
That the only ones I see are mannequins
Looking stupid , being used and being thin
And I don't know why I hang around with them

能夠脫俗於科技時代的出世而發展出60年代的復古情懷
我欣賞他們反璞歸真的能力

有時是9人，有時則是8人或7人
不過據他們自己的說法
團員數字的多寡是靠天氣決定的
也就是無須太在意的意思
